HEMMER: Left his team behind after they had reached an agreement Saturday afternoon. Now they've got this veteran of the U.S. military reversing himself in confusion when he said this yesterday. Watch.

ALEJANDRO VILLANUEVA: Every single time I see that picture of me standing by myself I feel embarrassed to a degree, because like I said, unintentionally I left my teammates behind. It wasn't me stepping forward. I never planned to boycott the plan that the Steelers came up with. I just thought that there would be some middle ground where I could stay in the tunnel, nobody would see me, and then afterward I just wouldn't talk to the media, like I do all the time.

KATIE PAVLICH: First of all, Villanueva was the only one who was following the NFL rule book by going out, holding his helmet to his side, putting his hand over his heart, and standing there without speaking in respect for his country and the national anthem, the American flag, and those who have died to give him, and the players in the locker room who are being cowardly, the right to protest however they please. He was the one following the rules. And the reason he's reversing himself is because his coach, who is also a coward, came out publicly to berate a veteran for daring to stand alone on the sideline to respect his country. That's where we are. We're in real trouble.
