HARRIS FAULKNER (FOX ANCHOR): I mean Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy want to cut, the DOGE, you know they're going to work out of the Department of Energy -- or rather efficiency. This gives them a help or what's your opinion?
LISA BOOTHE (FOX NEWS POLITICAL ANALYST): I say don't let the door hit you where the good lord split ya. You know, if you want to leave, be our guest, right? I mean if you remember, Ron Paul in 1988 said that the FBI was almost designed as if the purpose was to spy on Americans who disagreed with the government on policy. And I think we've seen with both former Obama as well as Joe Biden they have proven his point to be correct, right?
And look, Trump will receive some resistance from the deep state. We saw it during 2016. This time I do think because he has the popular vote behind him he is going to be able to do more of what he wants to do, he'll have more of a mandate. Also, he has learned his lessons from his first tenure in the White House as well. Look, he can fire some of these political appointees. The civil servants do have some statutory protections, but what we saw on his way out of his first administration, he issued an executive order reclassifying those civil servants essentially making them at-will employees and more easily fireable. So, I think we'll see his administration be creative in ways to gut the government of the deep state.
FAULKNER: And that really brings about the one word we just can't stop saying; accountability.
