Fox News hosts: Whether or not Donald Trump said “lock her up” or not is not the point

Will Cain: “They're saying, well he did say lock her up. I find these single-cell amoeba-level intelligence individuals out there with no real ability to escape 2016's Trump Derangement Syndrome. What's wrong with you?”

RACHEL CAMPOS DUFFY (WEEKEND CO-HOST): I think — a lot of people talking about this piece of the interview, because they're saying he actually said to lock her up. But the point is, he didn't, and he didn't after she and Barack Obama and the intel agencies attempted a coup essentially on his administration. So the fact that he saw that coup, the whole Russia hoax, and he still didn't do it, but then this happened to him. I think, you know, the whole trial is such a joke. And I think this is about the whole mistrust, the Bill of Rights applies to Donald Trump as well, he gets to have a fair trial. And he sees all the stuff that's going on in the government, and I think people see him as the only person who can do it, because it's been used against him in a way that we've never seen before.

PETE HEGSETH (WEEKEND CO-HOST): It's just amazing how measured he was —

CAMPOS DUFFY: Exactly, yes.

HEGSETH: Considering what has been done to him, from Russia, to two impeachments, to a raid of Mar-a-Lago, to then this conviction on a sham stacked 43 counts, and he's able to sit with us for an hour and a half and introspectively talk about that but then move to issues of what he wants to do for the country. You can really feel in his core, he's got the -- he wants to have the country's best interest at heart.

WILL CAIN (WEEKEND CO-HOST): Rachel brings up, Brian, that people are reacting to that part of the interview. Because they're saying, well he did say lock her up. I find these single-cell amoeba-level intelligence individuals out there with no real ability to escape 2016's Trump Derangement Syndrome. What's wrong with you? Whether or not he said lock her up or not is not the point.

BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): He didn't.

CAIN: What is wrong with you? He didn't lock her up. That's the takeaway. Secondarily, he didn't lock her up, and he's saying, but you're trying to lock me up right now. And by the way, we'll see what sentencing says in a month. So forest of the trees here. What did he say in 2016 is not the point. He didn't lock her up. You are trying to lock him up. And, oh, by the way, if you really want to have a freakout session, why don't you focus on the fact that he said, I don't know what I may do in the future if I'm elected. If I'm elected, you've opened Pandora's box.

You think Hillary Clinton didn't break any laws? Get out of here. You think Joe Biden hadn't broken any laws? Get out of here.
