Fox News anchor disregards Fox’s own debunks of a GOP claim that an FBI document shows Biden was paid a bribe

Two Fox reporters said a source told the network that “the document does not say Joe Biden received any payments”

Fox News anchor Julie Banderas disregarded a Fox reporter who told her moments before that an FBI document trumpeted by Republican lawmakers “does not say Joe Biden received any payments” and instead pushed GOP claims that the president was paid $5 million by Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company his son Hunter worked for.

Another Fox correspondent had reported the same thing the day before, debunking the GOP’s latest smear of the president.

Fox has long pushed false allegations tying President Joe Biden to his son’s work for Burisma, an effort by former President Donald Trump to bring down Biden’s presidential campaign but which succeeded only in leading to Trump’s first impeachment. The GOP’s latest effort in this smear campaign revolves around an FBI document that Republicans claim shows the president was paid a bribe.

On June 9, Fox reporter Jacqui Heinrich said during a report on this GOP allegation that “a source familiar with this document tells Fox, ‘To be clear, the document does not say Joe Biden received any payments.’”

But just moments later, Banderas ignored Heinrich’s reporting, saying: “Let’s just talk about Marjorie Taylor Greene, Nancy Mace, and Lauren Boebert describing these $5 million payments, which basically were paid to multiple Biden family members, including the current president.”

On June 8, Fox senior congressional correspondent Chad Pergram similarly reported that “a source familiar with the document tells Fox, quote, ‘The document does not say Joe Biden received any payments.’”
