From the June 12 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends:
AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): 2020 Democratic hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand comparing being pro-life to being racist. Here to react is the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Fox News contributor, Alveda King. Good morning. Hey, Dr. King.
ALVEDA KING (FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR): Good morning and I have been listening to Ms. -- Senator Gillibrand's remarks, and as a director of civil rights for the unborn, I need for her to understand that abortion is a civil wrong. And of course if you're pro-life you can't be racist, because you're defending life for the most defenseless population on the planet, the little babies in the womb. Where's the lawyer for the baby? Sure, a woman has a right to choose what she does with her body, but the baby's not her body. Where is the lawyer? Where is the voice? Where is the advocate for that little baby? That is the pro-life message. So, we're fighting for human life from the womb to the tomb. And that is the definition of civil rights.
EARHARDT: Of course you would never appoint a judge that's racist, or anti-Semitic, or homophobic. But what is wrong with appointing a judge that believes you shouldn't kill babies?
KING: It's right to believe that you should not kill innocent human beings. The babies, of course, being that population of people that has the least advocacy. Thank goodness for these civil rights voice of humanity which includes that baby. And she's saying that we're imposing our religious beliefs. You know, science agrees that that little baby in the womb is a human being. So she is ignoring science, blaming religion for her right to kill innocent people. Those are little tiny people in the womb and the civil rights starts and civil rights begin in the womb. So to call us racist -- because I'm pro-life, I guess she's calling me racist as well. I'm a problem-solver. But I love people, all people, rich, poor, young, old -- she's absolutely civilly wrong. Abortion is a civil wrong. Life is definitely a civil right. And to be pro-life is to proclaim the sanctity of life. She needs to get a dictionary or something. I'm sorry. I know I'm a little more fierce today and -- but it's not a joking matter. She is absolutely misleading men, women, and children and advocating killing our youngest and our weakest people who happen to be in the wombs of their mothers. Boys and girls.
EARHARDT: Dr. King, thank you so much. Always a good perspective. We did reach out to her campaign for her statement and we did not hear back.
