A month ahead of advertiser upfronts, a new full-page ad in The Hollywood Reporter magazine asks media buyers and major advertisers if Fox News commentary is “on brand” for them.
The ad features quotes from Fox News hosts and guests that highlight the network’s pattern of airing racist, sexist, and anti-LGBTQ content, with additional text that reads: “HEY FOX NEWS ADVERTISERS IS THIS ON-BRAND? DROPFOX.COM”
Fox’s “news side” and “opinion side” are cogs in the same propaganda machine. When you advertise on Fox News, you support the network's extremism, bigotry, and dangerous conspiracy theories. And quarantining ads to only a small subset of programs will not insulate brands from public rebuke when Fox News' next controversy strikes.
