Be a Saint and help Beck sully the anniversary of MLK's “I have a dream speech,” won't you?

As Media Matters' has previously noted, Glenn Beck is planning a rally for his conservative followers on the anniversary of and at the same Lincoln Memorial location as Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech.

Civil right's leaders have accused Beck of trying to "hijack" the legacy of MLK, which is only one reason why it was curious to see Tom Benson -- the owner of the NFL's New Orleans Saints -- raising money for the event.

The support from Benson is even more bizarre when you consider what Beck said about those affected by Hurricane Katrina, which ravaged New Orleans in 2005. As Media Matters noted:

On Hurricane Katrina survivors who remained in New Orleans: "And that's all we're hearing about, are the people in New Orleans. Those are the only ones that we're seeing on television are the scumbags -- and again, it's not all the people in New Orleans. Most of the people in New Orleans got out! It's just a small percentage of those who were left in New Orleans, or who decided to stay in New Orleans, and they're getting all the attention."

Worse still, Beck defended those comments after people started asking questions.
