Glenn Beck's machine is endorsing Rep. Michele Bachmann, a Tea Party ally, in her bid for Republican Conference Chair. The position is being vacated by Rep. Mike Pence and is the number four post in the incoming House majority.
In a piece that appeared on The Blaze yesterday Assistant Editor Meredith Jessup wrote:
There will likely be other candidates tossing their hats into the ring against Bachmann for the conference chair position, but John Boehner's new House majority team will surely have to find some way to incorporate the groundswell of tea party support which helped propel the GOP back into power. Bachmann will be a tough opponent for anyone given her stature as the most visible supporter of the tea party movement on Capitol Hill and a broad base of support across the country -- from grassroots Americans to big Republican powerhouses like Sarah Palin.
Is there a better choice?
The Blaze linked to a post at Andrew Breitbart's Big Government site that similarly encouraged Bachmann's bid for a leadership position.
Beck also has come out strongly in favor of Bachmann's proposed Constitutional Conservative Caucus, hosting her on his radio show yesterday to promote the caucus and asking his audience to “beg” their representatives to join.
