GREG KELLY (HOST): OK, a couple of other things. Ron DeSantis could be the next defense secretary. Who is this guy? That's Ron DeSantis in uniform. I did not support Ron DesSntis for president. I warned him, I said he wasn't going to be a good candidate. He didn't listen. He ran. And it was a disaster. But he's been a very good governor of Florida, right? Some hiccups. Not everything's perfect.
Now let's take a look at that resume. When you're the governor of Florida, you're responsible for a lot of things, right? What? Wait a second. $116 billion is the budget? That seems a little bit — we got to get Elon Musk down there. 22 million people, 400 plus — that is the kind of resume that really qualifies you to run the Pentagon. That resume. I think DeSantis, if the opportunity becomes available and I think it's going to very soon, he should take it because he's not good at running for president. Alright. Even that debate with Gavin Newsom, remember? He was all fidgety and weird. And I mean, Gavin — he clobbered Gavin Newsom on the substance. But he just, I don't know. And then ordinary moments, ordinary moments that he should be able to handle with aplomb. Just kind of a — remember this in Iowa.
...
KELLY: Alright, I'm all for blowing off the fake news. But are you blind? It's just not his thing. It's not his thing, but administering the Pentagon, the biggest federal bureaucracy, and making it lethal again and not woke and all those things. I think it's a perfect fit. No one's perfect, but it's a perfect fit.
