GREG KELLY (HOST): He may have divulged classified information. It's — you can't have that. It's very hard to govern when you may be surrounded by people who could turn around and write a book or a column that does tremendous damage, especially when it's false.
All right, on to the other guy. CISA, he headed CISA, this strange organization. And right after the 2020 election, which, let's face it, was controversial and a disputed election — like days later, they say, we can assure you we have the utmost confidence in the security and integrity of our elections, and you should too. Well, it wasn't up to CISA, all right, to put something like that out. And this guy Krebs, who said that, deeply suspect and he should be investigated. I felt at the time I thought he was way out of line. You can't say this kind of stuff when you're a bureaucrat.
...
KELLY: He had a whole other host of responsibilities. He needed to stay the hell out of it. And that gave so many people the excuse. Trump's own administration says that the election was totally solid. There were legitimate disputes about the fairness of the election. And for that guy, a government employee, to use that federal agency to meddle where he shouldn't have been meddling, well, President Trump signed an executive order, and they're going to take a good, strong look at that guy.
...
KELLY: Well, the only downside is this probably helps these guys. They're going to be surrounded by law firms from the left and speaking engagements. Guys like Miles Taylor and Krebs, they'll be hailed as heroes because President Trump has targeted them.
This is totally legitimate, a totally legitimate function of the president. He suspects wrongdoing, and he can direct the Department of Justice to look into it. You know, Joe Biden tried to say he didn't when he did. And that was a big part of the deceit, right? He pretended he had nothing to do with it when he was directing it. That's what we believe. Me, actually.
