STEVE BANNON (HOST): What our folks want to know, is when we take back the House, is it going to be same-old-same-old, what’s going to be different? Are we going to go on the attack?

REP. MATT GAETZ (R-FL): You know what, the truth is like a lion, it doesn’t need to be protected, it just needs to be set free, and it can protect itself. So, we need to set the truth free on the origins of the coronavirus, on the stolen 2020 election, on the fedusrrection of January 6, and on the fact that the vaccine mandates have made our country weaker, not stronger.

BANNON: Talk to us, talk to us about a real January 6, and who’s going to set it up? Is McCarthy going to do this, Jim Jordan going to do this, are we going to have a real January 6 that goes to the whole thing — including adjudicating what happened on 3 November of 2020?

GAETZ: Well, if anyone posits to be the leader of our party and our movement, they cannot stand for the swamp and the establishment and the bureaucratic permanent state. They have to stand with us in exposing these issues. And if Kevin McCarthy will not allow us to be able to find out these answers, he should not be the leader of the Republican conference.

Bannon was convicted last month of contempt of Congress for refusing to cooperate with the House select committee investigating former President Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. The committee has also revealed that Bannon and Trump spoke multiple times during the period that led up to the attack on the Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters on January 6, 2021.
