Lara Logan, who has been sidelined from Fox News, has been touring other right-wing media swamps and endorsing conspiracy theories. In recent weeks, Logan has invoked Pizzagate, claimed that the January 6 insurrection was “orchestrated just like Charlottesville was orchestrated,” and called President Volodymyr Zelensky a “moron” and a “puppet that was installed by the CIA.”
In complaining about the state of the country, she has twice claimed that she and others are “sitting at the gates of Auschwitz.” She also complained about her situation with Fox News, claiming that “lots of people” at Fox News want her back, but there are “bad people there who have power.”
She has even dipped into the paranormal, twice citing people's belief in astral projection -- the idea that people can leave their bodies to travel to another location -- to conclude that humans are better than “aliens” because “humor” has “never been identified in” aliens.
Logan is the host of the Fox Nation program Lara Logan Has No Agenda. She has been sidelined from appearing on Fox News since she compared Dr. Anthony Fauci to Nazi war criminal Josef Mengele.
When Logan was asked about her status with Fox News during a March 8 appearance on a religious streaming program, she claimed that “there are lots of people there” who want her back and unnamed Fox News people “asked me to just let it blow over.” However she positioned her status as an internal battle, stating that there are “good” people at the network and “there are bad people there who have power and we don't know who's going to win that fight yet.”
Logan also attacked Fox News for its reporting, indicating that she had problems with Fox’s coverage of the Arizona 2020 presidential results (the network famously called the state for President Joe Biden). She also complained about the network’s Ukraine coverage and later said that she’s seeing “people being corralled into a certain direction like they are with Ukraine, where you're only allowed to have one narrative which is Putin bad, Ukraine victim, and it's not true, then that concerns me.” (In reality, Fox News’ main programming has propped up Putin -- to the delight of the Kremlin.)
Logan has been guesting on right-wing podcasts and in fringe media outlets. During those appearances, as previously documented, she has linked President Zelensky to the occult; called COVID-19 vaccines “genocide by government”; and spoken to a QAnon influencer, among other things.
Media Matters reviewed many of Logan’s appearances and found that she has continued burrowing even further into the right-wing conspiracy rabbit hole:
- Logan says that we don’t know “who is actually running Ukraine,” and that Zelensky is “some useful puppet that was installed by the CIA.”
- Logan called Zelensky a “moron” leader “who was obviously selected because he's out there in stilettos and black leather pants doing spoof videos for Dancing with the Stars.”
- Logan claimed that January 6 was a “manufactured event. We know it was orchestrated just like Charlottesville was orchestrated.”
- Logan while forwarding a Democratic donor conspiracy theory: “Remember Pizzagate? Another subject we're not allowed to discuss.”
- Logan claimed that Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman is “obviously a spy … Did anyone watch the TV series The Americans?”
- Logan compared herself and religious right-wing viewers to people who are “sitting at the gates of Auschwitz right now.”
Logan says that we don’t know “who is actually running Ukraine,” and that Zelensky is “some useful puppet that was installed by the CIA.” Logan appeared on the March 8 edition of His Glory TV’s Take Five, where she dismissed Zelensky as just an actor who isn’t actually in charge of Ukraine. She said: “Who is actually running Ukraine? We don't even know the answer to that.” She added that President Zelensky is just “some guy … some useful puppet that was installed by the CIA” and “our intelligence agencies and our leaders … put that actor Zelensky in power.”
