After saying that he didn't “want to hear any more whiny liberals talk about the death toll and George Bush's war,” Newsradio 850 KOA host and Independence Institute president Jon Caldara on his July 9 broadcast asserted of the war in Iraq that “starting 2007, it's the Democrats' war.” Caldara went on to ask, “How many boys came home in boxes thanks to the Democrats?”
From the July 9 broadcast of Newsradio 850 KOA's The Jon Caldara Show:
CALDARA: How long have the Democrats been in power in, in the House of Representatives now?
CALLER: Just since the last election. Since January of --
CALDARA: So let's see, that would be January, February, March, April, May, June. They've been there for now half a year. Half a year and counting. Now, I don't want to hear any more whiny liberals talk about the death toll and George Bush's war. We can, we can draw a line on the dateline and say, “That was George Bush's and the Republicans' war, but starting 2007, it's the Democrats' war. How many boys came home in boxes thanks to the Democrats?” Hmm. Interesting question.
