Dow Jones Sues Briefing.com For Alleged Content Theft

Dow Jones & Co., owned by News Corp., has sued Briefing.com, claiming the market analysis Web site is taking articles and headlines improperly, according to Business Week.

“By instantaneously cutting and pasting into their own products the reports of news events uncovered and verified by other news outlets at significant investment and expense, they offer a pirated product at a cheaper cost,” Dow Jones said in its complaint according to a BW story.

It also reports that: “In one two-week period, Briefing.com copied parts of at least 100 articles and more than 70 headlines within three minutes of their publication on Dow Jones Newswires, the company said in a statement.”
