Hannah Giles tries, and fails, to spin away the ACORN pimp story

Andrew Breitbart and James O'Keefe won't say boo about the fact that they both pushed the false story last year that O'Keefe was dressed as a pimp inside the ACORN offices.
But as noted below, the Washington Independent's David Weigel caught up with O'Keefe's underovoer ACORN partner Hannah Giles at CPAC [emphasis added]:
I asked Giles about a criticism that's often been leveled against them -- that they hyped up the video by wearing outrageous clothes in promotional materials and the videos' introductions that they didn't wear in the actual stings.
"We never claimed that he went in with a pimp costume," said Giles. “That was b-roll. It was purely b-roll. He was a pimp, I was a prostitute, and we were walking in front of government buildings to show how the government was whoring out the American people.”
Hmm, let's return to last September shall we, when O'Keefe appeared on Fox News, dressed as a pimp, and Fox News host Steve Doocy announced that O'Keefe was being "dressed exactly in the same outfit that he wore to these ACORN offices up and down the Eastern Seaboard."
As I noted in my column this week, O'Keefe made no effort to correct Doocy's falsehood. Indeed, the entire point of O'Keefe dressing up that morning was so that Doocy could spread the pimp costume falsehood, which is why O'Keefe told Fox News viewers during the show: “I'm one of the whitest guys ever. I just wear ridiculous stuff and put people in ridiculous situations.” The clear implication being that he wore “ridiculous stuff” into the ACORN offices.
Now, let's return to last September when O'Keefe and Giles' mentor Andrew Breitbart wrote this in his WashTimes column as he hyped the ACORN sting:
When filmmaker and provocateur James O'Keefe came to my office to show me the video of him and his friend, Hannah Giles, going to the Baltimore offices of ACORN - the nation's foremost “community organizers” - dressed as a pimp and a prostitute and asking for - and getting - help for various illegal activities, he sought my advice.
Today, Giles insists they never claimed O'Keefe was dressed as a pimp inside the ACORN office.
Except, of course, that they did.
UPDATED: I'd be curious to hear from Breitbart himself if this is now the official spin, that nobody from his camp last year ever claimed O'keefe went inside ACORN offices dressed as a pimp. Will he go on the record with that claim?
UPDATED: If Giles and O'Keefe and Breitbart never made the 'dressed-as-a-pimp' claim, why did so many journalists magically begin to make the same mistake, reporting that O'Keefe was dressed that way?
