Discussing his frustration with Republican government officials on the August 9 broadcast of News Radio 740 KVOR's Afternoon Show, a caller said he wanted to see “Democrats and Republicans work together and get the terrorists away ... go over there and just wipe 'em out.” In response, guest host Seth Warren told the caller that “when I mouth off at parties about how we need to just absolutely nuke the ... Middle East, you would probably be the guy that went 'Uh-huh, yeah, you're right. You're right.' ” Warren continued, “And you would probably agree with that type of mindset.”

As Colorado Media Matters noted, during the August 7 Afternoon Show broadcast, host Russ Johnson similarly agreed with a caller's suggestion that “it would serve a lot of strategic value ... to take out something like Mecca.” After the caller added, "[A]nd if we were to go ahead and bomb that place, what questions would it put into the mind of Muslims about how powerful Allah is that he could not prevent something like this from taking place?" Johnson replied, “Now, actually, that sounds like a possible reason why we may want to consider this as an option.”

Johnson and the caller had been discussing U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo's (R-CO) July 31 comment that the United States could use the threat of a strike on Muslim holy sites to deter a nuclear attack by Islamic terrorists.

WARREN: What areas that, that most -- obviously -- there's some issues stuck in your craw here. What, what issues are the biggest issues in your mind you feel Republicans need to turn around on?

CALLER: Moral issues. Of course the, the immigration. I, I, you know, I, there's so many that I -- oh man, just to get 'em off the top of my head, off, off of my chest right now, it would be, take me hours, but --

WARREN: Yeah.

CALLER: I'm just, I'm just sick of them saying that what they're going to do, and then, and bow down to the Democrats --

WARREN: And doing something different.

CALLER: -- because of, because of, because of the votes, you know. And --

WARREN: Yeah.

CALLER: -- and it doesn't come down to doing what's right and what's moral and stickin' with it. And, you know, I, I would love to see this, the Democrats and Republicans work together and get the terrorists away, you know, I mean --

WARREN: Mm-hmm.

CALLER: -- just get, get -- go over there and just wipe 'em out. Just do it. Get rid of 'em.

WARREN: Well, [caller], you could-- you and I could have a good conversation here, because when I, when I mouth off at parties about how we need to just absolutely nuke the, the Middle East, you would probably be the guy that went, “Uh-huh, yeah, you're right. You're right.” And you would probably agree with that type of mindset.

CALLER: Oh, yeah.

WARREN: So --
