Newspapers, like everyone else, may be still trying to increase Web revenue, but traffic to such sites appears on the rise.
Mediaweek reports that a new data analysis shows a marked increase in top newspaper Web traffic in the past months.
“The number of unique visitors to newspaper Web sites in the top 25 markets grew 10 percent from March to April reaching 83.7 million, according a Newspaper National Network analysis of data from comScore Media Metrix,” Mediaweek states. “In the top 10 markets, unique visitors during the same period were up nearly 13 percent from March to April reaching 70.8 million. Since the beginning of the year, unique visitors grew 15 percent each in the top 25 markets and in the top 10 markets.”
So don't kill the printed word yet, even if it is online.
