The top five finalists in each Society of Professional Obituary Writers Awards category (except for radio obits and Lifetime Achievement) have been posted at the organization's Web site for those who wish to participate in the group's “just-for-fun People's Picks Poll.”
“The poll results will not affect the results of the juried contest. The judges have already chosen the official SPOW Awards winners,” an announcement said. “SPOW Awards will be presented and People's Picks winners will be announced at an awards luncheon at the Philadelphia Inquirer on April 23 during the group's convention.”
