The Los Angeles Times chose not to endorse anyone in the upcoming primaries for two key statewide offices - governor and U.S. Senator.
Californians will vote for Republican and Democratic nominees in both races on June 8. Incumbent Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is barred from another term while incumbent Sen. Barbara Boxer is running in the Democratic primary.
In an editorial Sunday, the Times stated: “We Californians voted ourselves into many of the problems we face today, but it's hard to believe that we deserve these dismal choices for the state's top elected offices. Voters cannot be blamed for being disappointed at the options and dismayed at the process, which is warped by the increasing precedence of money and party leaders over voters.”
Ouch. Not something any of the candidates wants to hear.
