MARK LEVIN (HOST): And so they're not going to put a billion dollars in an office complex. Now, let me ask you a question. People in Florida, as am I, do you even want Disney — under this leadership — expanding its footprint in the state of Florida? Where it donates to Democrats, where it’s going to promote a radical-left agenda.
Haven’t most people come to Florida, who’ve come here within the last 10 years, to escape the kinds of policies that [Disney CEO Bob] Iger and the Democrats support in California and the other dark-blue states? The answer’s yes. So, if Iger doesn’t wanna put another billion dollars in Florida, and doesn’t want to hire a whole bunch of woke employees, I think that's a positive for Florida.
And here's another reason why, because the policies that DeSantis and his administration and the Republican legislature have put in place, and are putting in place, attract other companies with an enormous amount of money. Attract wealth, whether it’s by individuals or corporations or families or whatever it is, doesn't matter. It’s pouring into the state of Florida.
If he had bowed — if he had bowed down to Iger and Disney — because they were the bullies, they were the bullies. It’s up to the governor to protect the government schools. It’s up to the governor to protect the government colleges and universities. It’s not, you know, everything’s not Disney University. Well, then maybe Florida wouldn’t be such a place where people would want to come to escape.
And so it’s still, net, not even a close call, that what DeSantis did, and is doing, is a positive.
Now, I know President Trump’s saying, “See that, they lost a billion dollars.” President Trump is responding out of pure politics, in my view. Because from a business perspective, Florida won't miss $1 billion invested by Disney, over a period of years, building an office complex. It won’t miss it at all, not in the least. Because other companies are coming in, other wealthy people are coming in, and they’re contributing to the civil society that is the state of Florida.
You’re not getting implanted in the state of Florida, this California ideology, which is utterly and completely destructive.
So, I know, all of a sudden the left and the media are concerned, “Well, look at this, a billion-dollar investment.” They’re not concerned when it’s an oil company. They’re not concerned when it’s Elon Musk. No, no, this, Disney, they’ve become Disney-centric because Disney’s so left-wing.
