MICHAEL SOLAN (SEATTLE POLICE UNION CHIEF): If they are willing, meaning the elected officials who make these decisions, if they are willing to surrender a police facility, the East Precinct, what’s to stop these unreasonable activists to take another precinct, say the flagship precinct of the Seattle Police Department -- the West Precinct -- which houses the 911 call center, and our community needs to understand how serious this is. If they are willing to take a precinct, removing the 911 call center won't allow police service in the city. So where is the reasonableness here? Where is the safety of the reasonable community of the city of Seattle? To me, that is absolutely appalling, and I am embarrassed being a Seattle resident to be even talking about this.
