AHTRA ELNASHAR (SINCLAIR NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT): President Trump on the campaign trail using New York Post reporting to attack Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Vice President Biden, you owe the people of America an apology, because it turns out you are a corrupt politician.

ELNASHAR: The president referring to a series of New York Post reports. The first alleges emails show Hunter Biden arranged access to his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, with his business partners. On Thursday, a second report alleges Hunter Biden used his father's political influence to profit from a business deal in China. Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon first tipped off the Post to these stories.

ELNASHAR: The Biden campaign and Hunter Biden’s attorney deny the allegations in the New York reporting -- reporting that contradicts what Hunter Biden told ABC News last year.

ELNASHAR: Now, the Senate Homeland Security Committee, led by Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, is working to verify the emails in the Post’s reporting, after an investigation into the Bidens last month found no evidence of wrongdoing.

Mike Zinn, a senior adviser to the Congressional Integrity Project, says he doubts the legitimacy of Johnson's investigations.

MIKE ZINN (CONGRESSIONAL INTEGRITY PROJECT): He’s really, like, treating the Homeland Security Committee more as like a wing of the RNC then as an independent agency.

ELNASHAR: Since the Post story sources are Bannon and Rudy Giuliani, the president's personal attorney, Zinn and others have serious doubts about whether any of it is true.
