AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): At the top of the hour, a House committee is investigating the weaponization of the federal government and they’re going to hold a presser on the three FBI whistleblowers who say that they faced retaliation and abuse at the bureau. Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Pete Hegseth joins us now to talk about this.

EARHARDT: Knowing what you know now about what these whistleblowers, because we have an idea what they’re going to say, what's the most shocking?

PETE HEGSETH (FOX HOST): Well, the political manipulation of the entire thing internally that they are blowing the whistle on. You see, we talk a lot about how this isn't the entire FBI. The rank and file are good patriots. And this is an example of that. These are the whistleblowers who said I -- you know, I joined the FBI to chase down drug traffickers or sex traffickers. I mean, I wanted to enforce the law. And it turned into a political instrument.

And so the most shocking one you are going to hear here in this testimony is that they took the events of January 6, what happened at the Capitol, and they’re trying to make it look like domestic terrorism, white nationalism, whatever you want to call it, is prolific throughout the country.

HEGSETH: So I think it's also the retaliation. You know, we’re supposed to like whistleblowers, right? Remember Alexander Vindman, like, he blew the lid off of the phone call and he was put on the cover of every magazine. How will these whistleblowers be treated? I already know how the institution has treated them. But will legacy media pay any attention to it? The answer is probably not. But if our government is weaponized, there’s nothing more dangerous than trust in our system. And good on these whistleblowers and the committee for showcasing it.
