Senate candidate Rand Paul, the Tea Partier who won the Kentucky Republican primary this week but made more news with his coments about the 1964 Civil Right Act, reportedly pulled out of a planned appearance on Meet The Press for this Sunday.
“Rand did 'Good Morning America' today, set the record straight, and now we are done talking about it,” Jesse Benton, a spokesman for Paul's campaign, said to The Washington Post. “No more national interviews on the topic.”
Betsy Fischer, the NBC show's executive producer, responded: “Obviously, they've had a tough week -- we all know that. I hope he'll . . . keep his commitment.”
