Moms for Liberty’s upcoming national summit will feature KrisAnne Hall, a far-right commentator who has been a member and host for the anti-government Oath Keepers militia. Hall is also an election conspiracy theorist who “compared the U.S. Capitol police to Nazi S.S. troops” and gave an anti-government presentation to the white nationalist and pro-Confederate group League of the South.
Moms for Liberty is hosting a summit this week in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The right-wing organization works to pass anti-LGBTQ laws across the country, especially regarding education, and helps platform extremists. The organization has also repeatedly quoted Adolf Hitler.
Numerous right-wing politicians will be speaking at the event, including former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson will also appear. Robinson has a history of making vitrolic remarks about abortion, Jewish people, LGBTQ rights, school shootings, and other topics, including defending sexual predators Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby.
Moms for Liberty has been heavily intertwined with vitriolic right-wing commentators. Anti-LGBTQ pundits Dennis Prager and James Lindsay are scheduled to address the summit. Anti-Muslim commentator Katie Gorka will also speak.
The group is also giving the stage to fringe commentator KrisAnne Hall. She is a lawyer who has appeared as a guest on far-right outlets, including on QAnon programs like BardsFM and RedPill78. She works with the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, a far-right and white nationalist-tied organization whose central tenet is that the authority of county sheriffs exceeds that of the state and federal government, and that those officials can nullify federal laws. She has spoken at previous Moms for Liberty events, including its national summit last year.
Hall works with her husband and former pastor JC Hall, who is also set to address the summit. The two frequently make media appearances together, including recently appearing on the program of mass shooting conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
The following are examples of the kind of rhetoric and beliefs that Moms for Liberty is branding themselves with by hosting KrisAnne Hall:
KrisAnne Hall is a member of the anti-government Oath Keepers militia and hosted a show for its streaming network. Hall has numerous ties to the Oath Keepers, the far-right anti-government militia. Oath Keepers leader Stewart Rhodes “and Kelly Meggs, the leader of the Florida chapter of the organization, were found guilty by a jury today of seditious conspiracy and other charges for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.”
Hall has been involved with the Oath Keepers for years. She wrote in January 2014, “I am An Oath Keeper! ARE YOU?” She later encouraged people to sign up for the organization. Hall has also hosted a program on Oath Keepers TV and done an event for the group.
Hall spoke at an event for League of the South, a white supremacist and neo-Confederate group. The League of the South is a white supremacist group that wants the South to secede from the United States. The Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “in recent years, it has increasingly embraced violence, criticized perceived Jewish power and warned black people that they would be defeated in a future race war.”
The SPLC reported that Hall spoke at an event for the League of the South in August 2019, during which she displayed a presentation that “included information on the theory of nullification and why ‘federal use of undelegated power is theft.’” The group added that “Hall attempted to distance herself from LOS, saying that her teachings run contrary to the group’s position. But some of Hall’s rhetoric, such as her belief in both nullification and justification of secession, could help LOS reach new audiences.”
Hall is an election conspiracy theorist. Hall frequently pushed the conspiracy theory that Trump had the election stolen from him. She wrote on January 3, 2021: “Please call and email both of your State Senators AND your House Representative and demand they Stop the Steal. We have included a sample script to help you. … #StopTheSteal.” Hall’s script included lines demanding that the elected official “must publicly and actively stop the theft of this election or I will never” vote for that person again.
On January 6, she wrote: “THIS, America, is the REAL COUP, turning lawlessness into legal activity turning fraud into the means by which our elections are to be decided. What message will REAL AMERICANS send today? … #StopTheSteal.”
Hall has quoted Hitler and “compared the U.S. Capitol police to Nazi S.S. troops.” Hall, like Moms for Liberty, has quoted Hitler. She quoted him in June 2015 after complaining about government laws regarding children:
Hall, as the Iowa Capital Dispatch reported, “compared the U.S. Capitol police to Nazi S.S. troops.” The publication explained:
In another video, Hall suggests America is a “full-on Marxist” state that is bent on forcing people to become vaccinated against COVID-19. “Because this is America, they have to feed you lies to keep you under their Marxist agenda,” she says.
In that same video, she questions the authority of the U.S. Capitol police, whom she compares to Nazi Germany’s S.S., or Schutzstaffel, and the FBI to arrest and detain those involved in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol if they travel outside the District of Columbia.
“These Capitol police say, ‘Oh, we’re just aiding the FBI,’ ” Hall says in the video. “The FBI does not have jurisdiction in your state, your county, or your city … The sheriff can override the governor and kick the feds out of the county … The feds know they don’t have jurisdiction. They know this. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be trying to trick your sheriff into mutual-jurisdiction agreements by dangling trinkets and gifts of money to your sheriff … They’re putting the Capitol police in your city because you have no control over them and they will have no loyalty, and no submission to you, whatsoever. They will be blind enforcers, like the S.S., just carrying out the bidding of the next tyrant that’s in office.”
