STEVE BANNON: The Catholic Church has been terrible about this. The bishops have been terrible about this. By the way, you know why? You know why? Because [they're] unable to really to come to grips with the problems in the Church. They need illegal aliens, they need illegal aliens to fill the churches. It's obvious on the face of it. That's what the entire Catholic bishop's condemning. They have an economic interest, they have an economic interest in unlimited immigration, unlimited illegal immigration.

WILLIE GEIST (CO-HOST): So Senator, that was the response to a question from Charlie Rose, where he said, essentially, that Cardinal [Timothy] Dolan has come out in support of Dreamers, in support of DACA, and that was the response from Steve Bannon. What's your reaction to that?
SEN. DICK DURBIN (D-IL): That statement was outrageous. I can say, as a Catholic, that I am proud of the fact that my church and many others, synagogues, and temples, and churches, Protestant and Catholic alike across the United States, have stood up and said this is the moral and just thing to do. Mr. Bannon of Breitbart doesn't get it. He believes that they're doing this just for some economic motive? He ought to stop for a moment and reflect on what the Gospel says about what Christ told us to do when it came to accepting the stranger. That is motivating people of all religions to step up, and what Mr. Bannon said was an outrage.
