CHRIS JANSING, MSNBC ANCHOR: Well, let me ask you then about what has already been talked about in Chicago and surely is being looked at in other cities as well. One of the things that they are proposing is a law that is less restrictive, here's what it would do, Mr. LaPierre: They would require firearm owners to purchase insurance, receive training or maintain a registry of how many guns are in particular homes and Mayor Daley, police officials and others have said, look, police then responding to an address will know what's in there. And, is that a reasonable expectation do you think?
LAPIERRE: You know, now as of today, every time an elected official, including Mayor Daley puts his hand on the Bible and swears to uphold the Constitution, he is swearing to uphold the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States and the individual right. That reminds me of some of these elected officials, the segregationists, after Brown vs. Board of Education. I mean, the NRA has no doubt that we'll continue fighting this at the city, state and federal level, because there will be some cynical politicians out there and activist judges and defiant city councils that want to transform this constitutional victory into some practical defeat through a Byzantine labyrinth of rules and restrictions and regulations that make the Second Amendment impossible to experience, unaffordable and unattainable for average citizens in this country and we're going to fight that in every way possible.
