OAN host implores viewers to tell Verizon to “keep OAN” after it dropped the network

Dan Ball: “Maybe Verizon will listen to the folks that pay the damn bills”

Hours after news broke that Verizon is dropping OAN, Real America host Dan Ball addressed a piece of viewer mail by warning people that Verizon is “going to pull a DirecTV on us” and try “to cut OAN” from its lineup. Ball told people to “call that number” provided in the viewer’s email, and tell Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg to “‘keep OAN, keep OAN,’ and maybe Verizon will listen to the folks that pay the damn bills — you, the subscriber.”

DAN BALL (HOST): Folks, if you're viewing me right now and OAN on our Verizon Fios provider, they are trying to cut OAN. We're hearing possibly the end of this month or next. So they're going to pull a DirecTV on us. So call that number. You want to tell them "keep OAN, keep OAN," and maybe Verizon will listen to the folks that pay the damn bills — you, the subscribers. But yes, Verizon's the next one trying to censor One America News.

Since DirecTV decided to drop the network earlier this year, Verizon has been the biggest cable provider to carry OAN -- and OAN had been attacking Verizon on-air as that contract neared expiration.

Ball’s calls for viewer action are a somewhat tamer version of his response to DirecTV dropping OAN, when he solicited viewers for dirt on-air -- “whatever it may be” -- against the AT&T board chair, apparently to attack and embarrass him on Real America as vengeance for dropping OAN.

With Verizon set to drop OAN effective July 31, the company might find itself the target of more attacks.
