PAUL DANS (PROJECT 2025 DIRECTOR): The attacks on President Trump and, and some of even the attacks on on Project 2025 are all of the same kind. It's essentially you know, they trot out the dictator, authoritarian narrative but in reality, it's all projection. We are actually living now and we have an authoritarian resident in, in the White House in the name Biden.

And you know, quite frankly, you wouldn't raise it because you're too modest. But we also have the leading dissident journalist here. And probably the number one issue that the posse is thinking about other than Trump is threatened to also be thrown in the clink.

So, I mean, this is part and parcel –

STEVE BANNON (HOST): But this is how third world countries roll —

DANS: This is, absolutely.

BANNON: They take the leading political figure, they take his crew around him, particularly the media and any advisor he has and they try to throw them right before an election. I mean, it's pretty, it's pretty banana republic cookie cutter.

DANS: It's true. Now we know that we see the – what's going down but now it's time for us to act and I think that's what the real call to action has to be and I know you're not going to do it. But here again, you know, in your particular case, I'd say you're the leading journalist on our side, you know, and there is —

BANNON: I would never call myself a journalist. We have a platform of information.

DANS: Well, I mean, I respectfully – you're a news gatherer and some, you know, the point is that journalists are protected here in DC. People might not know there's a journalist shield statute as there are many states, those apply generally to courts.

But there again, you know, that in that particular case in DC, Congress ratified that statute. So Congress here is using its mechanism to persecute you through the court system at the workings of the Department of Justice.

But at the end of the day, they're taking a major, you know, news disseminator offline in the run-up to an election.
