Corsi's previous appearance on “pro-White” radio show was streamed live on “White Nationalist” Stormfront.org

Jerome Corsi's appearance on the July 20 edition of The Political Cesspool Radio Show -- during which he promoted The Obama Nation and criticized Sen. Barack Obama -- was streamed “Live” on the self-described “White Nationalist” and “White Pride” website Stormfront.org. Prior to Corsi's appearance on the July 20 broadcast, host James Edwards claimed that “most Jews ... regard[] Jews and whites as two different races,” and co-host Winston Smith repeatedly referred to Obama as a “mulatto.”

As Media Matters for America and the Southern Poverty Law Center's Hatewatch blog have noted, Obama Nation author Jerome Corsi is reportedly scheduled to appear on the August 17 edition of The Political Cesspool Radio Show. Corsi's previous appearance on the July 20 edition of The Political Cesspool -- during which he promoted The Obama Nation and criticized Sen. Barack Obama -- was streamed “Live” on the self-described "White Nationalist" and "White Pride" website Stormfront.org. Additionally, at several points during the July 20 broadcast prior to Corsi's appearance, host James Edwards and co-host Winston Smith expounded on their views on race. Edwards claimed that “most Jews ... regard[] Jews and whites as two different races,” and Smith repeatedly referred to Obama as a “mulatto.” According to its "Statement of Principles," The Political Cesspool Radio Show “represent[s] a philosophy that is pro-White.”

According to a Google cache snapshot of Stormfront.org “as it appeared on Jul 21, 2008 00:01:06 GMT,” text under the headline “Stormfront Broadcast Radio” stated: “Live NOW: Political Cesspool BACK ON AIR! - Special two-hour show starting for Internet listeners! - James Edwards, Winston Smith, Eddie 'The Bombardier' Miller! Our featured guest is author and columnist Dr. Jerome Corsi.”

According to a June 10, 2004, forum post by “Sr. [forum] Moderator” Jamie Kelso, Edwards joined Stormfront.org in 2004 under the screen name "ElectEdwards." Kelso wrote: “Two of the marvelous speakers at the 2004 [European-American Unity and Leadership] New Orleans Conference, Bob Whitaker and James Edwards, registered their screen names since that event. Bob Whitaker is with us under the nom de screen of Bob Whitaker of whitakeronline and Tennessee's own James Edwards joins us as ElectEdwards." ElectEdwards has identified himself as “James Edwards” in several posts, and also stated that The Political Cesspool was his show in numerous posts. ElectEdwards has stated of Stormfront.org that he is a "proud" member and that "[w]hile I rarely have had the time to post on Stormfront, there is never a day that passes that I don't visit this site."

After The Political Cesspool temporarily went off the air, Edwards wrote in a February 13 post on Political Cesspool's blog that “Stormfront Radio ... provided tremendous aid to the cultivation of our broadcast. We salute you.” On April 4, Edwards wrote that The Political Cesspool “continues to live on in syndication with daily re-runs airing via Dixie Broadcasting Radio, Inc., Stormfront Radio and other networks.”

In a June 22 Washington Post article, staff writer Eli Saslow wrote that Obama's victory in the Democratic primary has “sparked an increase in racist and white supremacist activity, mainly on the Internet, according to leaders of hate groups and the organizations that track them” and cited Stormfront.org as “a central meeting place for the white power movement.” Saslow also discussed Don Black, whom ElectEdwards described as giving him "support":

Don Black spends 16 hours each day on his laptop computer reading hundreds of derogatory Obama comments posted on Stormfront.org, a Web site with the motto “white pride world wide.” Black, a former Ku Klux Klan leader, launched the site in 1995 to create a central meeting place for the white power movement. In the wake of Obama's securing enough delegates for the nomination, Stormfront, he says, has begun to fulfill his vision.

A site that drew a few thousand visitors per day in 2002 has expanded into Black's full-time job, attracting more than 40,000 unique users each day who can post on 54 different message boards, he said. Black has enlisted 40 moderators and his 19-year-old son to help run Stormfront.

Posters on Stormfront complain that Obama represents the end of “white rule” and the beginning of “multiculturalism.” They fear that he will promote affirmative action, support illegal immigration and help render whites, who make up two-thirds of the U.S. population, “the new minority.”

“I get nonstop e-mails and private message from new people who are mad as hell about the possibility of Obama being elected,” said Black, a white power activist since the 1970s. “White people, for a long time, have thought of our government as being for us, and Obama is the best possible evidence that we've lost that. This is scaring a lot of people who maybe never considered themselves racists, and it's bringing them over to our side.”

The Google cache of Stormfront.org's website “as it appeared on Jul 21, 2008 00:01:06 GMT,” taken on August 14 at 4 p.m. ET:

At one point on the July 20 broadcast of The Political Cesspool Radio Show, prior to Corsi's appearance, Edwards claimed that “like most Jews, [singer-songwriter] Randy Newman regards Jews and whites as two different races. Of course, when I do it, I'm called all sorts of rude names.” Also before Corsi's appearance, Smith said: “One thing I've wondered for a while is his [Obama's] identification with the African part of his genetic makeup. You know, he is not an African-American. He is a mulatto. That means he has a white and a black parent. He is a mulatto. He is neither white nor black.” He later referred to Obama as a “mulatto” again.

After Corsi's appearance, Edwards said to a caller who said people asked him if he was “prejudiced”:

Well, if they say it, if they say, “Are we prejudiced?” Well, you answered them exactly the way they should be answered: “Of course I am, and here's why.” If they ask, “Are you a racist or a neo-Nazi?” Well, first, ask them for a definition of that, and if they can't give you one, say, “Well, if you're using the ADL's [the Anti-Defamation League's] version of a neo-Nazi, meaning that I'm a white man proud of my heritage, then you're damn right I am. If that's what a neo-Nazi is, then that's what I am, and I'm proud to be, and you should be too, if you had any courage.”

Also following Corsi's interview, the program featured an advertisement from the Council of Conservative Citizens targeted at “American citizen[s]” who are “concerned about illegal aliens swarming into this country,” “disgusted with militant homosexuals who pervert the institution of marriage and who are conspiring to indoctrinate schoolchildren with the queer agenda,” or have been “denied work because affirmative action programs give minorities jobs they don't deserve.”

From the July 20 broadcast of The Political Cesspool Radio Program:

EDWARDS: But notice that, in these lyrics -- and this is the point I'm trying to make. There is a point here. Notice that like most Jews, Randy Newman regards Jews and whites as two different races. Of course, when I do it, I'm called all sorts of rude names. But Newman goes on to say that some Jewish kids are trying, some white kids are trying, and Asians are doing fine, but apparently Randy Newman himself, this Jewish musician, is not aware of any black or brown kids who are trying. I wonder how long it'll take the ADL and Little Green Footballs to start calling Randy Newman a neo-Nazi.

SMITH: As to my comments, I'd like to go back to something you said about Barack Hussein Obama. One thing I've wondered for a while is his identification with the African part of his genetic makeup. You know, he is not an African-American. He is a mulatto. That means he has a white and a black parent. He is a mulatto. He is neither white nor black. But he has chosen to associate or to identify with the African portion of his parentage. Now, back not all that long ago --

EDWARDS: Because it makes him, of course, invincible to scrutiny with -- from the media.

SMITH: Yes. Not that long ago, people were wondering, “Well, how do you tell if someone is white or black?” And the standard rule was, if you had one drop of black blood, then you were black. And that was called racist. But, however, here is Barack Hussein Obama, a mulatto, half white, half black, and he has chosen to identify as an African -- African-American, so to speak. Why is he not racist? I mean, he has a drop of black blood in him, and he has said, “OK, well, I got this black blood in me. I'm black.” Why didn't he choose the white part?

The fact of the matter is, all those people who decided that unless you were white, you weren't white. If you looked black, if you acted black, then you were black. And my point is, James -- Well, my point is, when we white people, we European-Americans decide that we do not ignore nature, when we decide that we acknowledge the obvious, we are called racists. But the fact is, we are realists.

Look at Barack Hussein Obama. Half white, half black. He goes to a black church that preaches hatred for white people. He associates with radical, violent groups whose purpose in existence is to kill white people. Would we be wrong in saying, “Well, he is black”? Would we be racist by -- in saying -- in noticing that he is black? Well, of course we are. We can't say that, but he can. And every other black person will say, “Well, Barack Hussein Obama is black.” They notice it. Why can't we notice it?

The fact of the matter is, folks, when white people notice race, we're racists. When black people notice race, they're people of color, which itself is a racist term. If you think about that phrase, folks, “people of color,” what does that mean? It means there is this group of people who lack something. And what they lack is a certain pigment in their skin. And that lack of pigment in their skin makes them unworthy to -- for inclusion in the rest of humanity, who calls themselves “people of color.”

I ask you, who are the real racists? The white people, the European-Americans who say, “Hey, white people and black people cannot get along together. Let's separate peaceably”? Or the people who say, “White people are unworthy to be included in the mass of humanity”? And folks, make no mistake about it, there are legions of black people, there are legions of mestizos out there who are more than happy to exclude white people from the mass of humanity. That's why they came up with this phrase “people of color.” To say, “Yes, there are black people, there are mestizos, there are Asians, and then there's this other group that doesn't even rate a name.” By referring to themselves as “people of color,” they get to separate themselves from us without even acknowledging us.

James?

EDWARDS: Winston, that's an excellent commentary. And, of course, longtime listeners of this program over the course of the last four years are very much aware of your ability to articulate as well as anyone -- not just on this program, but I mean anyone, anywhere, on any sort of network programming.

CALLER: I want to let you guys know that here in San Diego -- and I understand it also happened in Illinois -- we have been picketing or demonstrating at the -- well, first of off, I went to the La Raza thing, and we demonstrated there.

EDWARDS: Congratulations.

[clapping in background]

CALLER: And, you know, they had all the Obama people there, and everybody was trying to argue. But, you know, most of us are -- you know, we're pretty intelligent when it comes to politics, so we were just shutting 'em down. And this one guy says, “Well, you act like -- are you prejudiced?”

UNKNOWN: Ah, yeah.

CALLER: Well, certainly.

EDWARDS: Well, absolutely. You know, and that's another thing we've got to do. See --

CALLER: What's wrong with that? Aren't you? You're standing over there, you know, you've got the NAACP, you're over here in front of La Raza, you know, and you ask me a stupid question as that? Well, he didn't know how to answer that. They're not used to that.

EDWARDS: Right, and that -- you bring up a great point, Jerry. This is something that people try to do to deflate our sound arguments. “Well, are you this?” And they come up with -- you pick your choice of a derogative word. Well, first of all --

SMITH: Most of the time they don't ask, they just say it. [unintelligible]

EDWARDS: Well, if they say it, if they say, “Are we prejudiced?” Well, you answered them exactly the way they should be answered: “Of course I am, and here's why.” If they ask, “Are you a racist or a neo-Nazi?” Well, first, ask them for a definition of that, and if they can't give you one, say, “Well, if you're using the ADL's version of a neo-Nazi, meaning that I'm a white man proud of my heritage, then you're damn right I am. If that's what a neo-Nazi is, then that's what I am, and I'm proud to be, and you should be too, if you had any courage.”

CALLER: Well, I did -- they asked me that.

EDWARDS: Yeah, well --

CALLER: “Are you racist?” And I said, “Well, absolutely. I'm proud of my race. Aren't you?”

EDWARDS: And that's -- you know, and it totally deflates them, because what they expect you to do then is say, “Oh, well, no, no, no” -- and stutter and stammer like so many of our people do. We've got to break out of that. We've got to answer with defiant -- with a defiant resolve, in an upbeat and encouraged affirmation that we are right and they are wrong. Our cause is righteous and just. Theirs is not. We've got to set the record straight, and we've got to do so with bravery and a little guts. And you're doing it.

CALLER: Well, you know, here's the giggle. There's a fellow who used to be a Klansman, he was a grand dragon named Metzger. You've probably heard of him.

SMITH: Yeah. Him and his son were -- yeah.

CALLER: Yeah. And the one thing -- he came into San Diego on something, and they asked him that question. They said, “You're a racist.” And he says, “Well, absolutely.” Just took the wind right out of their sails.

EDWARDS: And it always does and it always will, and it's nothing to be ashamed of, if, in fact, the definition they believe “racist” to be, is a European-American --

CALLER: Well, is the NAACP racist?

EDWARDS: Yeah -- a European-American proud of their cultural identity or ethnicity or race. You know, race is our extended family. But Jerry, you're doing a good job out there. Thanks for calling in today. Thanks for taking a stand, and thanks for tuning in.
