Rudy Giuliani says Fox News “wouldn't let” Sean Hannity interview Viktor Shokin

Rudy Giuliani: “Hannity had arranged to interview him and Fox wouldn't let him.”

As CNN reported in 2019, Rudy Giuliani's then-associates Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman were arrested at Dulles Airport en route to Vienna to help with an arranged interview between Viktor Shokin and Sean Hannity.

You can find more about false right-wing claims about Shokin's firing here, here, and here.

RUDY GIULIANI (HOST) If you remember and, probably I'm saying something that's horrible and terrible, but Hannity wanted to do it and Fox wouldn't let him.

CHANEL RION (GUEST): Yeah. There was all this bureaucracy –

GIULIANI: Hannity had arranged to interview him and Fox wouldn't let him. So you guys had the guts. You guys had the guts to do it.

RION: If I remember it correctly, he was just going to Skype him, have him call in.

GIULIANI: Yeah, yeah.

RION: And I called you up and said, “Rudy, let's go over there.”

GIULIANI: They didn't even let him do that. They wouldn't even let him do that. I already had a Skype of him, what I wanted was him in person. I wanted, you know, I wanted to sit down with him in person, in the flesh, and let him show that he wasn't corrupt because when you meet him and he tells his story, it's very compelling. And Brian had nothing new.
