From the March 27 edition of Premiere Radio Networks' The Sean Hannity Show:
SEAN HANNITY (HOST): So, pretty stunning reversal. Justice Department revealed this week that they're going to side with the federal district court ruling last year that found that Affordable Care Act, Obamacare is unconstitutional. Now that's a significant reversal from the agency's previous stance, which declared that certain aspects of the law like the individual mandate are unconstitutional, which by the way has been gotten rid of, to be severed from the law's main framework. But the decision means that the government is not going to defend the law constitutionally on appeal. Well that's a good thing.
And in a letter to the clerk of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the assistant attorney general Joseph Hunt and deputy assistant attorney general Brett Shumate wrote that the Department of Justice has determined that the district court's judgement should be affirmed. During his Senate confirmation, now Attorney General Barr admitted that he was open to reconsidering the government's position on Obamacare. There you go, one -- check that off the list, too.
