BILL HEMMER (CO-ANCHOR): I think Sens. [Susan] Collins and [Lisa] Murkowski are obvious ones to watch for the Republicans. But Sen. Collins right now thinks if she doesn't show up on Monday well then the committee should go forward and then you get a full vote in the Senate. I think Sen. Jeff Flake is the one to watch. He was the first Republican who said hang on for a moment here, but even he seems to have come around to the idea that if she doesn't show on Monday, then this should go forward. 

JOHN SUNUNU (FORMER NEW HAMPSHIRE GOVERNOR): Yeah, and look at the pressure they're putting on poor Dr. [Christine Blasey] Ford to do something she doesn't want to do. Even when she's calling for this FBI investigation, those are words put on the table by [Sen.] Chuck Schumer. And forcing her to ask for a delay, which will keep her name in the press, I don't think gives full consideration to how this is going to impact her in the long run. I think -- as I keep using the phrase “unconscionable,” it is unconscionable, what they're doing. Look, they're asking for an FBI investigation. What do they mean by that? Do they think the FBI is going to go back and get fingerprints off a doorknob? There are no specifics. She doesn't know the where, she doesn't know the when. The two who answer to the question of who was there, she gave two names. Both of them support Judge Kavanaugh's strong condemnation of this, that it didn't happen. So there's nothing for the FBI to investigate and forcing Dr. Ford to keep asking for an investigation, the Democrats are just looking for a delay without any consideration of the consequences on her.
