STUART VARNEY (HOST): OK, joining us now, Sen. Deb Fischer, Republican, Nebraska, who will be asking questions of Dennis Muilenburg, Boeing CEO, tomorrow. Senator, look, thanks very much for being on the show today.

SEN. DEB FISCHER (R-NE): Thank you.

VARNEY: What worries me is that this line of questioning for Boeing will be, in fact, the takedown of a great American company. What do you say?

FISCHER: Oh, I don't view it that way at all, Stuart. I think what we need to do is get to the bottom of why we saw two crashes of the same model plane in a very short period of time. The American public needs to know that air travel is safe, that Boeing is a good company. But we need to see what's the cause of these crashes. If it was an error in the certification process —

VARNEY: Senator, I'm terribly sorry to interrupt you like this. I do apologize. But the president has taken the podium. We're going to listen in.
