SHARLA MCBRIDE (HOST): It hasn't even been a week. Right? And you said fifty countries already coming around saying, hey, hey, let's make a deal here. That's a pretty good sign that things are going to turn around. But if you watched any other networks — let's talk about the legacy media this weekend. Throughout the weekend, it wasn't looking good. They were — the fearmongering was on full display. I mean, it was the end of the world. It was doom and gloom. Is that the only thing they have? Do you think they were ready to pounce at this? Like, oh, something bad has happened in the first one hundred days. Let's go.
MARK KAYE (GUEST): You know, it's amazing how all of a sudden everybody in the world is an expert on tariffs, isn't it? Even my kids know all about tariffs. I want Donald Trump to ban calculus so that they can get straight A's in math. It is — it's amazing how all of a sudden tariffs, which have been a tool for 250 years since this country has been founding, are now this evil tool that Donald Trump is doing. I don't know why they would think Donald Trump would want to bankrupt the country. It doesn't make any sense to anybody. If you think about Donald Trump and what they're declaring, the fact that he's raising prices and destroying the economy and making the stock market — Donald Trump, last time I checked, has a lot of stocks.
MCBRIDE (GUEST): Yeah.
KAYE: He has publicly traded companies. He does not want his 401K going down either. This is again the blip. And what he's doing is he's resetting, building a strong foundation so that for 20, 30, 50, a hundred years in the future, everybody will be financially — it will benefit everybody. And we are going to see the benefits of this for years to come.
MARC LOTTER (HOST): Yeah. Mark, I mean, this is really the only thing the legacy media has got. I mean, I caught a few minutes of the mouthpieces over at MSM DNC this morning before we went on the air. They were talking about how this is all Trump's fault. Of course, they gave Biden a pass on the economy, but listen to the stuff they were saying over the weekend.
...
LOTTER: I mean, it seems like they're almost cheerleading for some sort of an economic recession or stock market crash.
KAYE: I mean, again, clearly these are not negotiators. The big thing I saw was they were all complaining that President Donald Trump was casually playing golf over the weekend. Well, when you're in the middle of a negotiation, you don't want people to see you stressed out. You don't want them thinking that you've made a mistake. So Donald Trump goes, here's the deal. It's Liberation Day. You're all getting reciprocal tariffs. I'm going to go hit the links. And now all of the other countries realize that Donald Trump is not losing sleep over this, and that they are going to be losing a large portion of their GDP.
So yes, whenever Donald Trump makes a move, whether it's good or bad for the economy, the other networks, the Democrats, the mainstream media or the legacy media, they are going to react negatively because they are trying their best to make Donald Trump one of the most popular presidents in the entire history of our country, look bad and make their party one of the most unpopular in the history of this country look, I don't know, not as bad as they actually are.
MCBRIDE: And you know what? Is playing golf that bad when we saw our previous president laying on the beach every single weekend? At least this president is getting some exercise, right?
LOTTER: Falling off his bicycle.
MCBRIDE: Yeah. All right, Mark, thanks.
LOTTER: My dad told me never be afraid to walk out of the car dealership. You get a better deal.
