JEDEDIAH BILA (CO-HOST): So what do you think, when is the transparency going to come? I’m waiting with bated breath.
BILL BENNETT (FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR): Well, it’s going to come soon, I think, as things get public. And remember, transparency is good, Justice Brandeis said sunlight is the best disinfectant, so let’s put these things out in the public and let’s see if they hold water, these accusations. Then, let’s get to the bottom of this quid pro quo business, and then let’s get to the real substance of it. Did anything happen which is grounds for the removal of a president? I say no, not a chance.
PETE HEGSETH (CO-HOST): So does the Democrats' case get stronger or weaker when we get that sunlight?
BENNETT: Oh, I think it gets weaker because its been all one-sided. They have leaked the information and the perspective they want. There’s another perspective on this as well.
But also, I think this will clear up a lot of confusion. Look, take the quid pro quo thing. All of foreign relations is a quid pro quo. You know, we do things for them, they do things for us. There’s good quid pro quo and there's bad quid pro quo. I would argue a really bad quid pro quo was the deal with Iran that President Obama put forward.
This quid pro quo, if it actually was completed -- which it wasn’t -- was a good thing. We were trying to help Ukraine with arms and other things, unlike the Russians who were obviously invading the country, and unlike Obama who was sending them socks. But I think at the end of the day, people are going to realize there was no investigation of Biden in Ukraine and the money was delivered. There is no there there for that quid.
