JENNA LEE: How big of a deal is this, Chris, for Kevin McCarthy?

CHRIS WALLACE: Well it's not good. You know, he did, it's the old cliche, but a Washington gaffe, which is when you accidentally tell the truth. And that is the fact -- I'm not saying that's why the committee was formed in the first place -- but clearly one of the things that Republicans were hoping, is that it was going to find some damaging information, and Lord knows it did. It's largely because of the Benghazi Committee that we found out about the existence of the private e-mail account in the first place. But, having said that, for McCarthy to make that connection between 'we formed the committee' and 'her numbers have gone down' makes it seem like a purely political exercise. I don't think it is, but he made it sound like it. And the Clinton campaign, both Secretary Clinton and also her top campaign spokesmen, they jumped all over this. She expressed great regret or great distress about it. Let me tell you, they were delighted to have this come out because it gives them an opportunity.
