Fox's Shep Smith Rips NBC For Allowing Donald Trump To Host Saturday Night Live

Others At Fox News Attacked NBC For Ending Business Relationship With Trump

Fox News host Shepard Smith slammed the NBC network for hypocrisy after it announced that Donald Trump is scheduled to host Saturday Night Live on November 7. NBC previously cut all business ties with Donald Trump following his comments about immigrants, explaining that Trump's “derogatory statements” were antithetical to the network's values. Despite Smith's criticism of NBC's decision to resume business with the Republican presidential candidate, Fox News rallied to defend Donald Trump after the split was announced in June. Fox News has worked tirelessly to lavish Trump with far more airtime than any of his opponents, and the network has repeatedly rushed to Trump's defense over his incendiary remarks about immigrants, women, and other presidential contenders. From the October 13 edition of Fox News' Shepard Smith Reporting:

SHEPARD SMITH: The network that once cut ties with Donald Trump over his comments on immigrants is now welcoming him back. Donald Trump will return to NBC to host Saturday Night Live on November the seventh. Think of that. He tweeted the news out today, himself. This will be his second time to host. The first was back in '04 when he was only talking about being president instead of actually talking about running for it. He was still hosting that show Celebrity Apprentice. His SNL appearance will come exactly one year and one day before the 2016 presidential election.

NBC, of course, ended its relationship with Trump earlier this year because he said Mexican immigrants are rapists and that they bring drugs and crime and NBC and everything Comcast did not want to be associated with Donald Trump. Left all the money on the table. No more. We'll have a fight about the Miss America contest, we'll do whatever you want. No more Trump on NBC. It's what he said, no more Trump. So what's he doing? He's going back to NBC. Good job. Nice job, NBC. You made a stand. You stood for your values. You did what you must. Forget the money. No more Trump. Except, more Trump. 'Dumb, dumb, dumb.' You did a great job. We're all proud of you, NBC. We'll be watching.
