LAURA INGRAHAM (HOST): We really feel the loss of Justice Scalia here. 

HEATHER MAC DONALD: Well, there's few more counterproductive and destructive policies than race-based admissions preferences. It brings in students to schools who are not qualified by the standards of their peers, and -- because the admissions preferences that schools exercise are massive. There's about a 200 point difference in SAT scores between so-called underrepresented minorities and whites and Asians. That means that students come into environments for which they're not prepared, and it results in the sort of insanity that this country went through last year with the Black Lives Matter protests on campuses with black students claiming to be victimized by their schools, when in fact the only reason they're there is because the campuses want so-called diversity so much that they lower their standards. But brought in under those lowered standards, students don't do as well, they fall behind in their classes, they drop out of science majors. And instead of looking honestly at their situation, they understandably want to blame something else. And so they say, “Oh well, I'm in a racist environment.” You have Princeton black students comparing themselves to Fannie Lou Hamer, a civil rights activist in the 50’s who said, “I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.” The idea that any Princeton student of any race is somehow an oppressed victim is simply ludicrous. But thanks to racial preferences today, you have a growing victimology on campuses that is very destructive to the body politic. 

INGRAHAM: I mean -- I think it's racist. I think that's racist. You now say, “we're going to admit a certain number of people -- a certain percentage of people -- that's what we're going to do. We're just going to admit a certain percentage of people.”
