MATT GERTZ: President Obama sometimes criticized the press. He was worried that they spent too much time on optics and not enough time on the substance of policy. But he respected their importance in a democratic society, their crucial role in providing information to the public. Donald Trump doesn't seem to share those values. It's going to be up to the media to really stand up for the importance of the free press.
