From the May 12 edition of Fox News' Happening Now:
KEVIN CORKE: I want to talk about fake news, for just a moment. The president has been very adamant that he feels like this administration hasn't gotten a fair shake when it comes to media coverage in general. And today he actually floated an idea that I think really caught a lot of people by surprise. This idea that yesterday you heard a number of people saying “the White House press secretary said one thing and the president said something different,” as far as that timeline and firing James Comey. Check out what the president was tweeting about that this morning. He's saying this, hey, “maybe the best thing to do would be to cancel all future, quote, press briefings, end quote, and hand out written responses for the sake of accuracy?”
Now, for the folks at home who haven't been sort of following this inside baseball, the truth is there's been a little sloppiness in terms of the timeline and maybe even the exact wording the president has used in talking to his communications staff, and other pronouncements as we've seen out there. And this is what happens, right? That's the game in Washington. We're going to keep an eye on the press briefing and see how Mr. Spicer addresses that. A quiet day. I'm kidding.
