STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): And speaking of time delay, I know one of your main priorities is tax reform, and that's what the president would like to see. And we've heard, “We're going to get health care done, then we're going to get tax reform done. We'll do them early summer, late summer, fall.” Now people are talking about, “You know what, there's a possibility tax reform not going to happen this year.” I know the president met with top Republicans yesterday. Are you guys all on the same page? Because it seems like the president and you want to go, but it seems like the Republicans in Congress, eh not so fast.
GARY COHN: So yesterday was actually a very good day for us on tax reform. As you said, the president had Republican leadership into the White House, and then later in the day [Treasury] Secretary [Steve] Mnuchin and myself met with both House leadership, the Speaker and Chairman [Rep. Kevin] Brady [(R-TX)], and we met with Senate leadership. We met with leader [Sen. Mitch] McConnell and leader [Sen. Orrin] Hatch [(R-UT)]. The six of us met. We talked about tax plan. We talked about the schedule. We agreed on a schedule. We agreed on our objectives, and we agreed on a time frame.
DOOCY: Is it this year?
COHN: And we're all on board to do it this year. There was a universal consensus to get it done this year.
AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): Steve's happy.
KILMEADE: It took Reagan two years and after he already got a tax cut right away. It seems like the new language is “tax cut,” not “tax reform.” Should we look into that?
COHN: We -- I think you should use both words: “reform” and “cut.”
