Fox contributor on the woman who says Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her: “You have to have evidence and credibility to be believed”

Lisa Boothe: “We are talking about a husband, a father, someone's life who is going to be ruined”

LISA BOOTHE (FOX CONTRIBUTOR): The allegation is coming at the eleventh hour right before he would be confirmed by the committee and eventually confirmed by the entirety of the Senate. Look, if there are other accusers that step forward, that is a different story. But we are basing this off -- The Washington Post even reported that the alleged victim --

SANDRA SMITH (CO-ANCHOR): What do you want to see happen here, Lisa? Because Kellyanne Conway this morning is saying that she believes that the Senate is going to move forward in a reasonable way, but this vote is scheduled for Thursday, David. This is going to have to move fast.

...

BOOTHE: She should be heard, but you don't automatically necessarily need to be believed. You have to have evidence and credibility to be believed. And The Washington Post article even states that she could not recall key details. Yet we are supposed to believe her on the most critical detail, which is essentially alleging someone tried to sexually assault her. That is in question. This happened 36 years ago. The first time she ever mentioned this to anyone was 30 years later in 2012. The therapist notes say that there was four men. Now she disputes that and says she actually said there were two men. So this is in question. We are talking about a husband, a father, someone's life who is going to be ruined, so we better have the facts. And the problem is you start from the beginning where you had Democrats who were automatically dismissive of whoever President Trump nominated as the nominee, said they were against him from the beginning before giving him a fair hearing. So that is where we begin.
