LAURA INGRAHAM (HOST): The former rabbi of the synagogue, the Tree of Life synagogue, was also interviewed and again I'm not blaming anyone in the aftermath of this because people are so upset, but the media really dragging this into a political conversation and trying to tie Trump's entire world view to this evil, anti -- he was an anti-Trump fanatic, the shooter, whose name I will not use to dignify these airwaves. But, this is what John Berman of CNN dragged the former mayor, former rabbi excuse me, of the synagogue that suffered so greatly. Let's listen.
[BEGIN CLIP]
JOHN BERMAN (HOST, CNN'S NEW DAY): Do you welcome the president to Pittsburgh in the wake of this?
LYNETTE LEDERMAN (FORMER PRESIDENT, TREE OF LIFE SYNAGOGUE): I do not welcome this president to my city.
...
He's the purveyor of hate speech. The hypocritical words that come from him tell me nothing. We have a -- we have very, very strong leadership in this city that believe in values, not just Jewish values, but believe in values and those are not the values of this president, and I do not welcome him to Pittsburgh.
[END CLIP]
INGRAHAM: The current -- yeah --
DAVID HOROWITZ (CONSERVATIVE WRITER): Forgive me for saying this, but I say it as a Jew, the Jews are out to lunch on these issues. First of all, Donald Trump was the first one to be attacked. Donald Trump is a counter puncher, basically, and he doesn't spew hate, for any group. Nothing like -- I mean, I turned on MSNBC the other day, Nicolle Wallace had a panel, every single -- there were four people on the panel. It was Trump had said, “I'm a nationalist.” And every single one of them linked that to Adolf Hitler. Why? Because every one of them said nationalist is dictator.
...
They just will find any pretext to link Trump to Hitler. Lawrence O'Donnell on CNBC he said, when Trump said he was a nationalist, said, “We all know the word that goes with nationalist, it's white.” And then that translates into Hitler. The hate against Trump dwarfs anything that you could say that Trump -- Trump is kind of actually funny in his attacks and light-hearted and everybody understands what he's doing.
...
The hate is coming from people like this rabbi who insist on demonizing the president of the United States.
