STUART VARNEY (HOST): President Trump tweeted this right before the election of 2018, the midterms. Now, pay attention please to that middle paragraph where he says, “If you want stocks to go down, I strongly suggest voting Democrat.” That's what he said right before the midterms. You want stocks to go down, vote Democrat. Well as you know, stocks did go down. People did vote Democrat, and stocks went down. Joining us now Larry Kudlow, director of the National Economic Counsel. Larry, welcome to the program on a very difficult day. Are the markets down at least in part because the Democrats took the House?
LARRY KUDLOW (WH NATIONAL ECONOMIC COUNCIL DIRECTOR): Well Stu that's a very -- that's a very political interpretation and -- you know, I'm completely nonpolitical. I will say this -- I don't see, after the election results, I don't see any evidence whatsoever that President Trump's pro-growth policies, namely lower marginal tax rates -- particularly for businesses -- and complete rollback of onerous and burdensome and costly regulations, and a new opening for energy revolution, America's going to be energy dominant, we're probably already there.
...
VARNEY: But we're not going to get anything new. If Democrats run the House, and they do, we're not to get any new stimulus, we're not going to get any more tax cuts, are we? That's the problem here.
