Fox & Friends guest says it will be “very helpful” to have attorney general nominee Barr overseeing the Mueller investigation

Carrie Servino: “He's someone who can do the oversight that Sessions wasn't in a position to be able to do directly himself. ... I think that's going to be very helpful.”

STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): Of course, as attorney general, he would lead the Department of Justice and for a lot of Democrats, the DOJ, they're very concerned about the Robert Mueller investigation. So it's really critical that Mr. Barr say, “Hands off,” he's going to do what he's going to do.

CARRIE SEVERINO (JUDICIAL CRISIS NETWORK): Yeah well, I think he's got the perfect approach. He does say he thinks it should continue. He says that's for the good of the country, for the good of the president, for the good of the position -- but he also thinks there needs to be transparency. And he's someone who can do the oversight that [former Attorney General Jeff] Sessions wasn't in a position to be able to do directly himself. So I think that's going to be very helpful. And it's someone who is going to be a steadying force on the department, because he's been there before, he knows it inside out, and I think that’ll really help with this.
