In interview with soldier pardoned by Trump after “unpremeditated murder” conviction, Hannity says the victim wasn’t tortured

Hannity: “You weren’t waterboarding the guy – I don’t think waterboarding is torture anyway”

From the May 7 edition of Premiere Radio Network's The Sean Hannity Show:

SEAN HANNITY (HOST): But you weren't torturing him, you weren't waterboarding the guy - I don't think waterboarding is torture anyway - you're just using basic interrogation techniques, correct?

MICHAEL BEHENNA (GUEST): Basic for over there. One of which was pointing a weapon at Mansur and trying to get the information out of him. Because he would say 'I don't know' to every question I asked him. He kept saying 'I don't know, I don't know.' So in order for those techniques to be effective, you have to make it feel like the guy is in danger, he's going to die, and I was telling him that. And he finally says to my interpreter that - something that I didn't recognize, I spoke a little bit of Arabic but not enough to understand what he said - and so Mansur said to my interpreter something I didn't recognize. I turned to my interpreter to get the translation and Mansur throws a piece of concrete at me which hits right beside my head. And as I turn to look towards Mansur he's standing up reaching out with his hands toward me and my weapon --

HANNITY: Why was he not cuffed?

BEHENNA:  He was cuffed, he was cuffed and we had cut the flex cuffs off him along with his clothes. Which was another technique that, unfortunately, is used over there. It's a technique that's used to humiliate the guy you're questioning.
