Fox contributor defends putting undocumented immigrants in concentration camps because they're “invading the U.S. border”

Lawrence Jones also says Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez labeling DHS detention facilities concentration camps is a “racist stance”

STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST: Freshman congresswoman from New York, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Tuesday said, Lawrence, the United States is running concentration camps on our southern border and that is exactly what they are, they are concentration camps. A number of people have criticized her for that. She doubled down yesterday and she tweeted this.

AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): She said, “DHS ripped thousands of children from their parents and put them in cages with inhumane conditions. They call their cells dog pounds and freezers. I will never apologize for calling these camps what they are. If that makes you uncomfortable, fight the camps, not the nomenclature.” So she said she will not apologize, she's doubling down. What are your thoughts?

LAWRENCE JONES (FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR): Well, you know, it is obvious that AOC has no idea what she's talking about because she hasn't visited these facilities. As you guys know, I've been on the border. I've been with the border agents, I've been to these facilities outside of them. And look, this is just -- this is what the Democrats do, though. They take these extremist positions. They try to cherry pick history to fit their narrative. They did the same thing two years ago where they said -- when people were harboring illegals, they called it the new underground railroad, OK? The thing that they're not noting is that in both situations none of these people were invading a country, right? Black people didn't invade America, they were stripped away. And the Jews weren't invading Germany. OK? And so you have a group of people that are invading the U.S. border, right? And they're being held in facilities. These are not internment -- many times, the border officials are taking care of their kids, they're rescuing their kids when they're drowning in the water because their parents have put them in tough situations. None of that is mentioned. And I think it's irresponsible for a U.S. elected official to take such a racist stance, quite frankly.
