Fox & Friends co-host: “We need more” border detention facilities because “these are God's children” being locked up in terrible conditions

From the July 3 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends:

GRIFF JENKINS (GUEST CO-HOST) Listen, almost $3 billion of the $4.5 billion that's now been finally approved for humanitarian aid goes to the Office of Refugee Resettlement. That's a little bit in the weeds but it's basically the HHS secretary that just deals with where to put these people, because the Border Patrol cannot do it on their own and it is a far cry to blame the people charged with enforcing our laws when you're not giving them the resources to handle a job beyond what their duties require.

BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): And [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)] says no beds, and I decry the conditions, and I'm not giving any humanitarian aid. How can you do both?

...

AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): It's a tough situation. It really is. Yes, we all have hearts. We look at this video of people behind the fences and they are sleeping on top of each other. We need more facilities. Democrats and Republicans, as you said over and over, Brian, need to work together, because these are human beings. These are God's children. We want to do the best thing.

I don't like to hear AOC talk about how people are being made fun of. The women are called names down there. Of course that is unacceptable and that needs to be fixed. But that's a different issue. Democrats need to work with Republicans so that we can have more money to help these individuals and to come through our country the right way.

KILMEADE: Yeah. And by the way, the issues, and immigration number one. What Cory Booker wants to do? Eliminate immigration detention centers. Is that the policy you want to see for this country? Just let people walk through? How about you set up turnstiles? That'll be great.

Or last week's debate, Julián Castro proposed decriminalizing illegal border crossings. And I think most of the people on both those stages agree with that. So, come here and it's no longer a problem.

JENKINS: Well great. Get together --

KILMEADE: So all those idiots that are coming here, going through our process, paying for green cards, taking the test, studying for those tests, making sure they don't do anything to break the law to make them ineligible -- how do you feel, if you're going through the process the right way, and other people crossing, and according to Democrats, can go right in.

EARHARDT: Have you talked to any of them? You probably have.

KILMEADE: They're inflamed. They're enraged.

EARHARDT: I know a few, and they're so upset. They are. It's not fair.

JENKINS: Well look, get together, change the laws. But whatever the laws are, let's all get on the same page and support the men and women charged with carrying those out.
