HANS VON SPAKOVSKY (GUEST): Well, it's because the left has just been pushing it relentlessly. And you have to wonder, well, why are they doing that? Why do they want people voting by mail instead of in person? Well, it's because they combine that with the fact that they want it legal to engage in what they call vote harvesting, what I call vote trafficking. They want to be able to send their, political guns for hire, their campaign staffers to voters' homes to pressure and coerce them when they're voting their absentee ballot to offer to deliver their absentee ballot, which means you're putting a very valuable commodity into the hands of people who have a stake in the outcome. And that's why there are so many absentee ballot fraud cases in the database we maintain at the Heritage Foundation of proven cases of election fraud.

But, look, even apart from fraud, what you just talked about, after the last presidential election, 2020, the US Election Assistance Commission issued a report on that election and they said that 90 million absentee mail-in ballots were sent out to voters by election officials across the country. Only 70 million came back. Now, yeah, maybe some people asked for them and then decided not to vote them. But that, you know, that would make me pretty concerned about voting through the mail.

...

VON SPAKOVSKY: About a month ago, there was a joint letter sent to the US Postal Service by the two leading national organizations of election officials, It's the National Association of Secretaries of State and the National Association of State Elector Records, complaining about how the Postal Service had mishandled mail during the primaries this year with long delays in the delivery of mail, delays that caused ballots to come in after the applicable deadline. So again, look, you're just foolish voting by mail — unless you absolutely have to because you're too physically disabled to make the polling place.
